The Government of Canada today announced support for Usinage Marcotte’s expansion in Terrebonne, Quebec. This expansion will help the company increase production capacity and create new jobs.
Usinage Marcotte is a leading manufacturer of precision machining parts and assemblies for the aerospace, medical and automotive industries. The company’s Terrebonne facility has been in operation since 1972 and currently employs over 150 people.
The expansion will see Usinage Marcotte add 20,000 square feet of production space to its Terrebonne facility. The new space will house new equipment and machinery that will help the company increase production capacity by 50%.
The Government of Canada is providing a $3 million repayable loan to Usinage Marcotte to support the expansion project. The project is also didukung by a $1 million loan from the Government of Quebec.
„Our government is committed to supporting businesses that are investing in Canada and creating jobs,“ said the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages. „Usinage Marcotte is a great example of a successful Canadian company that is expanding and creating new opportunities for Canadians.“
„This investment will allow us to increase our production capacity and meet the growing demand for our products,“ said Luc Marcotte, President and CEO of Usinage Marcotte. „We are grateful for the support of the Canadian and Quebec governments, and we look forward to continuing to grow our business in Terrebonne.“
The expansion project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Once completed, the project will create 25 new jobs at Usinage Marcotte.
